Join us as we celebrate the work of the Steamrail Volunteers and ride in style onboard the Vintage Train.
The Steamrail Board invites members and friends to travel behind a K Class Locomotive from Newport, exploring Melbourne.
Picking up at Newport Station at 10:01am we will run tender first via the Brooklyn Goods Line and pick up at Sunshine at 10:26am, before running to Watergardens (10:42am).
At Watergardens our loco will run around the train and we will head back to the city funnel first for a stop at Flinders Street Station at 11:51am.
From Flinders Street we head to Mordialloc, arriving at 12:37pm for a lunch break while the engine heads to Kananook for water and Frankston to run around.
All passengers are to disembark at Mordialloc so our volunteers can enjoy lunch.
Departing Mordialloc at 2:45pm, the train will return tender first to Flinders Street (3:26pm) before running up Glenroy Bank to Craigieburn (4:13pm).
From Craigieburn we return to the goods lines, via Albion - Jacana and Brooklyn, with our final stops at Sunshine (5:26pm) and Newport Station (5:56pm).
You may board or disembark the train at any stop using your ticket, but the train will not wait for you.
Only Steamrail Volunteers may board or disembark the train at Newport Workshops (Garden Platform) - times for this stop will be provided to volunteers.
Relax in our 'W' type or 700 Class carriages with the windows open or choose an air conditioned seat in our 1930's 'S' Type art-deco BRS carriage.
Club Car Moorabool will be available for all passengers, plus our CW type viewing van.
Seating is unreserved throughout the train.
Please ensure you are at the Station 15 minutes before departure and check screens or with staff for the correct platform.
Seating is unreserved, BYO Food and Drink as there will be no kiosk onboard the train.
Plenty of free all day car parking is available at Newport Station in the commuter car parks at 21 Market Street.

Members and Friends travel for $85.00 per ticket. ($55.00 child fare)
Volunteers are offered travel at a reduced rate - contact your department manager or the Steamrail Office.
