This event is brought to you by the Suzuki Talent Education Association of Australia STEAA (WA) as part of the Autumn Suzuki Piano Masterclass Workshop.Micheál McCarthy from Cottage School of Music spent 14 years studying at the Cork School of Music, Ireland. He is a graduate of University College Cork, Ireland and the Zoltin Kodily Pedagogical Institute of Music in Keeskemét, Hungary, where he studied under world-renowned pedagogue and Choral director, Péter Erdei. Micheál has held positions at the Canberra School of Music - Australian National University, the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music - University of Tasmania, and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) - Edith Cowan University, where, for over 25 years he has been Senior Lecturer in Music, specialising in the areas of Aural Training, Music Theory, and Choral Conducting.
