The Safewards model and associated interventions have been highly effective in reducing conflict and containment, and increasing a sense of safety and mutual support for staff and patients. Come along and learn from Lisa Spong about the model of care. Lisa is the Safewards Coordinator for the Safewards in General Health Project and OVA/Safewards Educator, at Western Health. Lisa has a passion for practical Sensory Modulation and Restrictive Interventions in Mental Health settings. Lisa’s most recent publication is 'Reducing restrictive interventions in an acute psychiatric unit'.
