
Library Lectures 2025: The Clapham Sect
The group of English 18th century evangelical social reformers known as the Clapham Sect is well known for their involvement in the abolition of slavery and other social justice campaigns. They were also influential in the appointment of Rev Richard Johnson as Chaplain to the colony of New South Wales.
