Aim: To rehearse the management of a range of emergency department crises
Outline:
This simulation-based training will focus on preparing you to manage the types of medical emergencies seen in emergency departments across the district.
Content:
Our faculty is experienced in the delivery of courses for a wide variety of participants, including those from remote areas. We will use tailored scenarios to:
• Reinforce the use of a systematic approach to the assessment and management of any ED patient
• Perform a rapid assessment/primary & secondary survey and initiate early management of patients presenting to the ED
• Provide an opportunity for you to practice teamwork skills incl. coordination of resources, leadership & followership, and speaking up for safety
