In the delightfully bizarre world of the Addams Family, happiness is found in sorrow, pain brings joy, and darkness is a dream come true. Despite their macabre charm, they still face the same challenges as any other family—especially when it comes to their children growing up.In Lippa, Brickman, and Elice’s musical, the Addamses must confront their worst nightmare: change. Gomez and Morticia, the devoted heads of the family, have upheld their eerie traditions for generations. However, their daughter Wednesday, now eighteen, is ready to forge her own path. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a kind and intelligent boy from a perfectly normal Ohio family—everything the Addamses are not. To complicate matters, she invites the Beinekes over for dinner.
