OVERVIEW
Odonata Foundation and its partners have been awarded a grant under the Port Phillip Bay Fund to create a system for community co-led and co-designed management of our coast and marine life for the benefit of our local community and economy. This is an initial pilot program centred in the Bayside Local Government Area.
The first stage is to build a tool to prioritise where we might take action to have the greatest positive impact on our community’s future. The tool shows how our community’s values connect to the services our Bay’s landscape. Understanding this is a critical step and allows us to position our community at the centre of future decisions. Primarily, it will represent how much our community’s values are currently impacted and enable us to find ways that can be improved, if we are allowed to take actions for ourselves. It will allow us to identify actions that have the greatest chance of success and the greatest benefit to our community and local economy.
