GAY LIFE DRAWING MELBOURNE held at our home base GROUSE, FITZROY, NAARM.

Embracing Queer art in our vibrant and inclusive community.

In this session THE BODY IN PARADISE we will explore the origins of today’s fascination with obtaining the 'body beautiful' through disciplining the body. Our models will reveal the foundation of gym culture, the 'Muscular Christianity' movement that emphasised the importance of physical strength, masculinity, and athleticism in Christian men, while also promoting moral and spiritual development. We will explore the question 'Can you obtain salvation through training the body?', while exploring other aspects of the movement that might be more hidden...

We will be located in the 'Velvet Room'. Strictly limited to 20 persons only!

Grouse is a licensed venue, they will be preparing a 'themed cocktail' for the night you can purchase at the bar during our break! Please BYO drawing pads and materials, every artist has their own uniqueness how they choose to create their art, which we like to encourage. Electronic pads are accepted. Basic materials available with a gold coin donation.
