Adapting ED Treatment for Individuals with Autism

About
PEACE is a Pathway for Eating disorders and Autism developed from Clinical Experience. The research suggests that around 35% of people experiencing an eating disorder may be autistic, or present with high levels of autistic traits. The PEACE Pathway raises awareness of the presence of autism, and treating the ED instead of the autistic features in a person-centred way. Additionally, the Pathway acknowledges individuals' sensory sensitivities, which help them tailor the therapeutic environment, including clinicians' communication styles and menus.
This webinar is open to both clinicians and carers. Autism can’t be changed but adaptations can be made by clinicians and carers to change the ways they deal with the autism and concurrent conditions, build better networks with other carers, and improve their own self-care.
