Wombat Forestcare - Presentation - Sat 17th May 2025 (SOLD OUT)
About
‘The flora of the Wombat Forest and how we can care for the forest’Speaker: Karl Just, ecologist and zoologist
Karl's talk will explore the fascinating plants and ecosystems of the region. From tall forests to open grassy woodlands and wetlands, the Wombat Forest supports unique and precious botanical communities. The talk will give an overview of the forest, including its geography and geology, before taking a closer look at the various plant communities and rare species that call the forest home. Plants are inseparable from the animals that live among and pollinate them, so we will also take a look at the amazing fauna that live in the forest. We will then look at some of the many threats to the Wombat, including mining, forestry, weed invasion and land clearance, before exploring ways we can care for and restore this beautiful forest for now and future generations.
Join us for afternoon tea after the presentation. Everyone is welcome!
THE PRESENTATION WILL BE RECORDED.
