20250417 Agape Meal

About
An Agape meal, also known as a love feast, is a communal meal shared among Christians, often reflecting the meals Jesus shared with his disciples. It's a time of fellowship and community, expressing the concept of "koinonia" (sharing, communion) within the Christian faithThe term "agape" comes from the Greek word for love, specifically a selfless, unconditional love. In the early church, agape meals were a way for believers to share a meal together, often in their homes, as part of their spiritual fellowship.
While the Eucharist or Lord's Supper is also a communal meal, the agape meal is distinct. The Lord's Supper is the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ, while the agape meal is more about sharing a meal together and strengthening relationships within the community.
Our agape meal will include simple, Middle Eastern-inspired fare: fruits, nuts, olives, pita breads, hummus, alongside a soup and roasted lamb.
