Hosted by David Moore: Of all the public workshops which I advertise, the ones which get the best response, often from people who haven’t even heard of the Alexander technique, is the foot workshop. From this event I hope I will shed some light on aspects of this area which you haven’t thought of and introduce some new ideas about working with people with foot issues.In this interactive session we will:• Analyse gait• Examine what is efficient and inefficient gait• Detail common foot problems and what is underlying them• Look at Including the feet in our conception of the primary control• Introduce some procedures applying inhibition and direction which we can give our students to become aware of and begin to repattern their postural and gait patterns• Look at the role of footwear and orthotics.
