Winner of the 2019 NSW APRA Art Music Award for Jazz Excellence and the 2012 Jann Rutherford Memorial Award for Young Women in Jazz, Kirkwood is known for the rich emotional depth and intricate arrangements of her music, often blending contemporary jazz with traditional influences.
