SalamFest are bringing connection and creativity to Doveton with a calligraphy workshop from Shakeel Tariq and visit from the famous SalamMobile Rumi car. Berwick resident and artist Sohail Yamin and a team of artists painted the car in the style of Pakistani truck art in 2017 with colourful messages of love, peace and compassion that were the key themes of 13th century poet and Islamic scholar, Jalaluddin Rumi. Drop in, learn some calligraphy, take a “Selfie with Rumi" and enjoy the puzzle of identifying the different countries of origin that the various design emblems on the car highlight.
