Seachtain de Chultúr na hÉireann-Miotaseolaíocht (Mythology)

About
Miotaseolaíocht na hÉireann, blas beag. Cúpla focal as Gaeilge agus raiméis eile -( Irish Mythology, a small taste. A few words in Irish and other ramblings)In this presentation Brendan will explore Irish Mythology, particularly An Rúraíocht ( The Red Branch Cycle - Cuchullain etc). These stories will be framed within a discussion of what we know of Ireland and its culture around the 5th Century. Brendan will introduce some Irish words and particularly how we can find those words in Irish placenames and thus link the mythological events to places in Ireland. He will suggest that our very own Songlines are to be found woven across the Irish countryside.
Brendan grew up in Ireland in an English speaking household although his father was a fluent Irish speaker. "Sé an Béarla mo theanga laethúil ach sé an Ghaeilge an teanga is giorra do mo chroí." (English is my daily language, but Irish is the language closest to my heart)
