Contested Weather Symposium

About
This symposium draws on and extends our existing work on weather and creative practice. Our interest is in exploring the ways in which the arts broadly speaking, operate within shifting and increasingly volatile climates in terms of weather and the political, social and cultural landscapes of our times. This symposium brings together artists, academics and cultural sector workers to engender a series of conversations about what role performance and the arts plays in providing both a generative and insistent space in which ‘slow listening’ (Grehan, 2020, 2022), reflection and consideration of the complexities of the current context, can take place.
Co-chaired by Dr Jo Pollitt and Professor Helena Grehan.
