AIAL Qld: The RTI & Privacy Commissioners on the IPOLA Act

Passed by Parliament on 29 November 2023, the IPOLA Act makes significant amendments to the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act), Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and related provisions in other legislation. The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is the lead agency in communicating these reforms and advising Queensland Government agencies how to adapt or establish their systems to remain compliant with the new legislation.The Queensland Chapter of the AIAL welcomes the OIC’s Right to Information and Privacy Commissioners to discuss these significant reforms, their context and purpose, and what public sector compliance under the legislation will mean to the community.
