Social Media Safety Awareness Session 1
About
All parents of Year 7 – 12 students in our community are invited to this awareness session, delivered by Eyes Open Social Media Safety. The session will cover the main risks and dangers on social media and empower you to make the best choices to reduce social media risks for yourselves and your children.The topics covered are:
• Inappropriate material and the current laws around child exploitation material
• Identity theft; how personal information can be stolen and used against people
• Predators; how they work, what they look for and what makes a user more vulnerable
• Cyber-Bullying and the current laws
• Digital footprints and how they can be used to enhance or detract from future opportunities
• Practical tools to reduce the risks and dangers online
• How to manage and report social media issues
This is a PARENT ONLY SESSION. Your child will receive an age appropriate comprehensive program by Eyes Open Social Media during the year.
