The intent of the exercise/program is that the community, local emergency service responders become leaders – they innovate and understand the risks, they come together to help each other and share their knowledge and learn what they need to know and do as a community.
The interactive exercise follows a community strengths-based approach designed to reduce the reliance on individuals, single groups, agencies, and government by drawing upon current and potential local people and resources. All the skills which may be required if the community becomes isolated, cut-off from systems and services and/or overwhelmed are already in your community. This exercise aims to unify them.
