Saturday 24 May: Foundations of Theatre Interpreting (FOTI) offers training to interpreters wishing to, or whom already, work as an Auslan Interpreter in the arts. Auslan Interpreters and Deaf Consultants will come together to unpack and understand the preparation process for an interpreted theatrical production. Training will be delivered by Alex Jones and Michelle Ashley. This is usually a two day workshop which will be condensed into one. 8 am to 5pmSunday 25 May: The Live Music Interpreting workshop will cover diverse audience needs and wants, being performance ready and translation approaches. Plus there will be plenty of opportunities to dance, sign and play! For those of you who have worked in live music, know to expect the unexpected - you need to think on your feet and this workshop will require that of you. We will be applying theory to practise every step of the way and be throwing you some live curveballs. 8am to 4pm.
