Join Mount Paranormal in Penola at Petticoat lane. Petticoat lane is a hidden gem in Penola, it still houses some of the original cottages from the pioneer families that were there. We will be investigating all three cottages, Sharam Cottage, Gammon Cottage and Wilsons Cottage on this rare opportunity to have all 3 cottages available together.Sharam cottage was owned by Christopher Sharam (bootmaker) and his family the original sharam cottage was two room and as the family grew they built the 2nd cottage, a member of the Sharam family Sarah know as Granny Davis, lived there up until the 1940s.
Gammon Cottage. A four roomed stone cottage owned 1879 by William Gammon. The detached kitchen was
then a common feature due to possible problems with open fires. The pressed metal roof tiles were used briefly prior to the introduction of
corrugated iron.
Wilsons Cottage, an 1860s stone cottage built by William Wilson built with Mount Gambier stone and local clay.
