“Fun With Maths” is a presentation of colourful, educational activities that are drawn from life challenges that need maths strategies to solve.Glen Katherine Primary School has invited 'FUN WITH MATHS PTY LTD' to our school for a series of Maths Enrichment Workshops with all our students from Prep – Yr 6. The workshops concentrate on Problem Solving. A problem is an unfamiliar situation that requires previously applied known skills to discover an answer, its accepting a challenge and striving to resolve it.
Fun With Maths believes children learn better when are having fun, working in pairs or in teams, using practical materials and allowed to work creatively and flexibly using lateral thinking skills. They can draw from a list of 8 Strategies which can help them to find a solution and we help them by using a Guided Discovery approach. Depending on your child’s year level, there are 3 different sets of activities.
