About
We've been amazed at the number of Super 8 films that were submitted to and are screening during this year's festival. Until right now, Super 8 has sat primarily on the experimental fringes, but now it's back in a big way with S8 features appearing now. From it's totally cool look on screen and the beautiful aesthetics of the cameras themselves, it can still be an expensive choice and fraught with its own behavioural issues.In this session, we hear from some of the filmmakers in the 2025 program who've been working with this analogue format and discover what they've learned, how they learned it and what tricks they've employed in mastering this wonderfully idiosyncratic but hugely enjoyable format.
