Imperatives of real-world therapy practice
About
In a therapy world increasingly characterised by manualised,‘off-the-shelf’approaches to practice, Dr. Joel Cullin outlines what he considers to be some of
the most fundamental and imperative considerations for the practice of therapy
with individuals, couples, and families. The day begins with an examination of the
purpose of therapy across all contexts, and addresses the foundational thinking,
differential decision-making, and communication skills required for all therapy
practice. The remainder of the day is broken into sessions outlining the differing
unique and essential skills that Joel believes are required for each of the three
‘modalities’ of therapy. Finally, the day’s content is summarised and
consolidated.
