Victoria Chorale presents Misa Criolla: A Folk Mass based on the rhythms and traditions of hispanic America by Ariel Ramirez - on Saturday 23 August 2025 at 5pm, Collins St Baptist Church, Melbourne.
Ramirez’ Misa Criolla is a stunning achievement. Composed shortly after the Second Vatican Council permitted the use of native languages in Catholic Churches for the first time, Ramirez- known as the chief exponent of Argentine folk music - brought indigenous musical traditions to the Latin Mass to create an accessible, passionate and joyous celebration of the Latin mass.
