Deconstructing Ravel at Langley Estate

About
Peter de Jager, one of Australia's most thoughtful and excitingpianists, presents an evocative program centred around Ravel's
devilishly difficult poetic triptych Gaspard de la Nuit. Ravel's
admiration for clean classical lines is demonstrated with one of
Mozart's most emotionally intense works, the Sonata in A Minor K 310,
written as an outpouring of anguish shortly after his mother's death.
Salvatore Sciarrino's postmodern deconstructions of Ravel's Scarbo and
Jeux d'eau wrap up the concert in a playful manner.
