2025 Malka Aboriginal Art Prize - Exhibition Opening

The Malka Aboriginal Art Prize was initiated by the late Mr Marvin McKenzie Senior, whose vision was to have an Aboriginal art show which ensured the Aboriginal community would have a space to showcase their work.‘Malka’ is a word used by several Aboriginal language groups within the Port Augusta region, meaning mark or painting.
In 2025 it will be the 16th year the Aboriginal Art Prize has been held.
Entries in the 2025 Malka Aboriginal Art Prize are eligible for:
2025 Malka Grand Prize Winner - $5,000 plus $2,000 of art supplies
Mr Marvin McKenzie Senior Local Artist Award - $2,500 plus $500 of art supplies
People’s Choice Award - $2,500 plus $500 of art supplies
Elder Award (60 years or over) - $2,500 plus $500 of art supplies
Youth/Junior Award (15 years or under) – $1,000 plus $500 of art supplies
