THE PLAY is an original musical that tackles pressing youth issues such as bullying, mental health, gang culture, grief, and self-empowerment. Written by Brian Montgomery, it follows the story of Harry Groves, a 14-year-old dealing with the tragic loss of his autistic sister. Through his journey, the musical explores overcoming adversity, finding hope, and addressing critical societal challenges.Featuring twenty original songs written by the creator, THE PLAY blends genres like rap, rock, and ballads to powerfully convey the emotional and social themes of the story. This dynamic production not only raises awareness of youth struggles but also provides a platform for young people to explore and enter the arts through acting, singing, and creative expression.
THE PLAY is designed for audiences aged 12 and up, including students, educators, and community leaders. It offers an opportunity for youth to engage with the arts, express themselves, and find support in tackling complex issues.
