Connor Whyte’s passion for the guitar has guided him on an exciting musical journey that began at the age of eight when he first picked up an electric guitar. His developing interest in the classical guitar led him to the studio of Andras Tuske, whose inspiring teaching has been the foundation for many young Australian guitarists. At just 16 years old, Connor completed his Australian Licentiate in Music, showcasing his remarkable talent and drive. Continuing his musical education at the University of Adelaide Elder Conservatorium of Music, he studied under the renowned teacher Oliver Fartach-Naini.
In 2022, Connor reached a major milestone by winning the highly acclaimed Adelaide International Guitar Competition. In mid-2023, Connor was the recipient of the Andres Segovia Diploma and Savarez first Prize during the Música En Compostela International University Courses of Spanish Music. Recently, Connor graduated from the Australian National University School of Music, with a First-Class Honours Degree under the tutelage of Minh le Hoang and Timothy Kain.
