We are Running both the Full Youth Mental Health first Aid Course and the Refresher course for those that need it.

First Course: Refresher Youth Mental Health First Aid
Date: June 1st for Refresher 10-4pm.
Location: 1st Werribee Scout Group Hall, College Rd Werribee
Cost for Refresher is $130 and you must have your manual. If you have lost your manual you can buy another on the day please bring $20.

Important please note if your last course was a refresher course you must now do the full course again to be registered as a youth mental health first aider. refresher courses can only be done once before having to redo the full course.

Second Course: Youth Mental Health First Aid
Date: June 14-15 for full course. Running 8.30am to 4.30pm over both days, with a lunch break.
Location: 1st Point Cook Scout Hall, Foxwood Drv Pt Cook.
Cost of Full Course is $180 for course and $20 for manual = $200 .

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental
health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and
professionals.
Mental health problems covered
• Depression and anxiety
• Eating disorders
• Psychosis
• Substance use problems
Mental health crises covered
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
• Non-suicidal self-injury
• Panic attacks
• Traumatic events
• Severe psychotic states
• Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
• Aggressive behaviours.
Note: This course is not a therapy
or a support group. Any adult can attend. The course
is not appropriate for adolescents
to attend.
