Choral Warm-Ups with Lyn R

Zoom Session 2, 20252024 saw Lyn instigate both a Year 7 Vocal Program and Junior School Year-level Choral Program, along with teaching Private Singing Lessons, and this is when she realised the need for a focussed approach to body and voice preparation, prior to working on repertoire songs. This system includes 7 basic areas of warm-ups that segue into each other very neatly:
body relaxation » breathing » lip trills » sirens » vowels » consonants » syllables.
‘Lyn R’s Choral Warm-ups sessions’ have grown out of the Warm-ups that she presented at the 2025 ACCET Summer Conference, which were based on the system explained above. The zoom sessions will run as a ‘normal rehearsal procedure’, allowing participants to experience various different exercises per each of the 7 basic areas covered.
