The German Book Club (Deutscher Buchklub Canberra) meets on the first Monday of each month to talk about a different German book in German.
This is a group for people interested in reading German literature, mostly novels and short stories. Everybody is welcome: young, old, native speakers and non-native speakers - although you do need to have at least an intermediate level of German, as both the books we are reading and our conversations will be in German.
The aim of the group is to come together in a relaxed atmosphere and have a lovely chat in German about the chosen book. Participation is free (gold coin donation would be appreciated) - please register for each event so we know how many people are coming.
Don't worry if you think you may not be able to finish the book of the month. We plan our meetings several months ahead and you are still welcome to join in even if you have not read the book. It's really about getting together and having a good chat in German.
