A Spiritual Quest: Seeking Transcendence, Masking Addiction?

About
This professional development seminar begins with Jung’s use of the Latin phrase ‘spiritus contra spiritum’. His hypothesis is that for recovery to occur an addict needs to have a spiritual awakening that puts into perspective their dependency on lower forms of spirit. This online presentation extends to addictive processes in general. It is for practitioners who are interested in gaining insight into what a spiritual intervention is and how it can be distorted or perverted by an addiction or underlying pathology. Also, therapeutic guidelines are provided to discern when a spiritual experience is being used as a defence as opposed to an exploration and appreciation of the emerging unknown and how this enhances one’s being in the world.
Numbers are limited to twelve participants to allow time for digestion, reflection and discussion about the material if required.
