Teaching assistants can play a powerful role in supporting inclusive education—but only when they are well-prepared, purposefully included, and strategically deployed.
In this webinar, we will explore the latest international research and share practical, evidence-based recommendations for ensuring teaching assistants contribute meaningfully to student outcomes—both socially and academically. Drawing on real examples from schools across Australia and New Zealand, this session will help attendees reflect on their current approach and make positive, impactful changes.
We are pleased to provide two session options which tailor the content for specific audiences.
Choose the session that’s right for you:
Option 1: For Teaching Assistants
This session is designed specifically for teaching assistants and other support staff. The content will be presented in a way that speaks directly to those in the role, with practical examples and strategies that can be put into action immediately.
Option 2: General Session For Teachers, School Leaders, and Parents
This session is intended for those who work with or support teaching assistants—teachers, school leaders, and parents. The content will be presented more generally, with recommendations regarding best utilisation of teaching assistants in inclusive schools.
FAQs
Are the two webinars the same?
Yes, the core content is the same. Each session is based on the same research and recommendations, but examples and language will be tailored to the intended audience.
Can I attend both sessions?
You’re welcome to attend both, but it’s not necessary as the core content is the same — each session is a complete, standalone experience tailored to its audience.
How do I know which session to attend?
If you’re a teaching assistant (or in a similar support role), choose the Teaching Assistant session.
If you’re a teacher, school leader, or parent, choose the General Audience session.
