Behaviour management 101 (BM101)
About
BM101 is a full-day workshop that early career teachers love, and later career teachers tell me how vital the reminder was. Teachers are so busy, and the job is so cognitively and emotionally demanding that sometimes we forget the approaches that make the most significant difference when managing students. We all need a reminder! We're also running classrooms in a more complicated social context than ever.We will focus on teaching behaviour, building routines, and taking appropriate steps when students push back against them. We'll examine a coherent framework for understanding student behaviour and develop scripted language to help us stay composed, predictable and reliable in tricky moments.
We'll build a repertoire of strategies (and name them) to give attendees a language for discussing effective behaviour management approaches.
Suitable for primary and secondary teachers. Come ready to work!
