ABOUT
Dogs in the Park is coming to St. Kilda, in partnership between City of Port Phillip and The Lost Dogs' Home!
Join a FREE group training session with your dog in Alma Park. The interactive one-hour session is run by experienced trainers from The Lost Dogs’ Home, specialising in dog behaviour and is designed to help you and your dog build a stronger bond while learning essential training techniques.
Throughout the session, you will learn valuable skills such as clicker training, attention cues, hand targeting, luring, recall, and loose lead walking. We will also cover practical topics like how to teach new skills effectively and introduce fun exercises, including “Find It,” to keep your dog engaged and motivated.
To ensure you and your dog are well-prepared, you will receive access to a learning module that covers key concepts, including:
- How to identify signs of stress and fear in dogs
- Key principles of force-free, reward based training techniques
- What health dog play looks like and how to tell if your dog is ready for off-lead exercising
- Key local laws, including leash requirements
This is a FREE community event, but bookings are ESSENTIAL. Please select ONE attendee/ticket per dog (not per person). Session sizes are limited to ensure a comfortable training environment.
With several dogs and people expected to attend, please consider if this is the right environment for your dog. If you think it may be too stressful for them, you’re very welcome to attend yourself and leave your dog at home where they feel comfortable.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to improve your dog's training and strengthen your connection with them. Don't miss out -- reserve your spot today!
