About The String Festival
The Austa NSW Mid North Coast String Festival is an event designed to give young and upcoming players the opportunity to perform in friendly, non-competitive and supportive environment. Participants are invited to play one piece either solo or with accompaniment to the best of their ability. Participants will perform one by one as part of a small group of players of a similar age and ability.
Unlike an eisteddfod there are no section winners and no first or second places. All participants will leave with a Certificate of Participation, a trophy and an adjudicators report. Each session is expected to take around 30 minutes with a 40 minute brief rehearsal beforehand. In addition, a bonus 20 - 30 minute workshop with Goetz Richter (Sydney Conservatorium of Music) will be held in between sessions.
