Sustainability, Stars and DTA: What are we doing?
Join us for our next BoSP session as we dive into one of the most pressing topics facing residential architects today - navigating sustainability, and design quality under evolving legislation and rating tools.
This event features keynote presentations from architect Andrew Noonan and Energy Efficiency Assessor Tori Walker, who will share their insights and experiences in designing and modelling for the residential sector. We’ll also hear from Morgan Jenkins, Leah Gallagher, and Andrew Keeffe as they walk us through recent projects and the real-world challenges they’re facing with the current compliance landscape.
With so many of us grappling with how to get our beautifully designed south-east Queensland homes over the line, this session is all about learning from each other. Expect honest discussion, practical insights, and a chance to share your questions and solutions. We’ll finish with an open panel discussion — so bring your queries, your experiences, and your curiosity. Let’s figure this out together.
Keynote: Andrew Noonan
As the architect on last years highly awarded 39S House and a councillor on the AIA QLD Climate Action and Sustainability Committee, Andrew brings a wealth of experience on where we have been and where we are going. Andrew is an advocate for the important role that the built environment plays in shaping a more resilient and prosperous future for people and environment, providing incredible potential for more responsible and better-than-net-zero outcomes, not just for the buildings themselves but also their surrounding communities, places and ecosystems.
Keynote: Tori Walker
BERA’s Principal Consultant, Tori Walker, has been involved in the design of homes for over 20 years and has worked with Building Designers, Architects, Builders and Energy Assessors both professionally and personally during this time.
