Join us for a captivating evening of music featuring soprano Anna Sandström, performing a curated selection of timeless songs that span centuries and continents — from the delicate beauty of expressive early Italian arias, the marvellous music of Henry Purcell, to evocative British folk arrangements by Benjamin Britten, and works by pioneering Australian composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks in a recital entitled Songs Sung Before.These are songs that have echoed through generations — once sung by many, including Anna herself in her student days, and now brought to life again in this special recital. Anna will be accompanied by her former teacher, Chris Allan, in a performance that celebrates the enduring power of music. Anna is well known both here in Australia and in the UK for her exquisite singing. She has appeared many times with Pinchgut Opera, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Song Company and as soloist with choral institutions and in recital. Join us for a delightful recital!
