SMGS Winter Academy - Circus Arts & Careers (Years 7-12)

This introductory session invites you to explore the thrill of circus arts through hands-on activities that reflect real high-performance training. Students will experience hands-on activities in circus skills such as juggling, acrobatics, and clowning, developing coordination, confidence, and teamwork.Alongside the physical training, participants will explore the diverse career pathways that bring a circus production to life. From stage management and rigging to lighting and sound design, from physiotherapy and sports psychology to costume and set design — the workshop offers insight into the creative and technical roles that support every performance. We’ll also cover careers in artist management, directing, producing, marketing, content creation, and more.
Lunch and snacks are provided.
Students should bring:
o Water bottle - to stay hydrated throughout the day
