Boobooks Meeting 1072

About
Speaker: Pam Davey
Topic: If Only We’d Thought About This Earlier: What do you REALLY know about Independent Retirement Living, Assisted Living, and Aged Care?
Pam Davey has been a voluntary Director of the not-for-profit Boroondara Aged Services Society (BASSCare) since 2005 and has been the Chair of its Board since 2013. She is passionate about the challenges that later life presents for all of us, and about the multiple opportunities that those challenges also present to lead as healthy and meaningful a life as possible, for as long as possible.
Pam’s education was initially in medical laboratory technology, specialising in pathology. She has spent a long and successful career as a scientist, chief scientist, operations manager and CEO in a number of the leading pathology providers in Australia, and she has a deep understanding of the practical operations of the medical system and associated services around the country.
Pam’s interest in aged care sprang from personal experience with the inadequacies of a fractured system, and became an abiding passion and determination to make the options for later ages much better.
