New York City, 1899. Jack Kelly and his scrappy band of newsboys scrape by selling newspapers on the bustling city streets. But when the cost of “papes” suddenly rises and the newsies are left with nothing, they decide it’s time to rise up and “seize the day!”
Led by the spirited Jack and the determined young reporter Katherine Plummer, the Newsies rally together, forming a union and launching a strike against the powerful publisher of the New York World. Can a group of passionate young workers stand their ground against media mogul Joseph Pulitzer?
Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies is a high-energy, uplifting musical that celebrates the power of youth, unity, and the fight for justice.
