2025 Community Garden Launch
About
We’re excited to launch our Community Garden Project on Wednesday 18 June - a student-led initiative over a year in the making.From applying for grants to engaging with local representatives, our dedicated students have shown incredible initiative and teamwork to bring this project to life.
The garden will supply fresh, seasonal produce and herbs to the NIHS Food Tech department, linking hands-on learning with sustainable practices. It will also involve staff and the canteen in a composting initiative, helping reduce food waste and support a greener campus.
This project is part of a national collaboration with six other schools exploring activism in action. Footage from each school will be featured in a documentary to be used as an educational resource across the country.
To celebrate, we’re hosting a screening of The Power of Activism, followed by a Q&A with its director, Michelle Dado, who will be joining us in person.
