Are you one of those quilters who only makes tops? Is it because you don’t own a long-arm, or does learning freemotion quilting seem overwhelming? Maybe walking foot quilting is for you!
This one-day, hands-on class will guide you through linear patterns including grids and matchstick quilting, gentle curves, as well as stitch and thread effects. Tailored for both beginners and those with free-motion experience, you'll explore methods to create rich textures and striking effects using your sewing machine's walking foot.
By the end of the day, you'll have the skills and confidence to create your own modern masterpiece. Students will need to complete some preparation before the class. A detailed requirements list and instructions will be provided after booking.
Tara Glastonbury, prize winning designer from Stitch and Yarn, will be teaching this class.
Arrive at 9am for a 9.30am start. Class finishes at 3.30pm
IMPORTANT REFUND INFORMATION
Refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled. Tickets are not transferable to another attendee or event. Refunds will be processed for cancellations received by email to events@melbournemodernquiltguild.com up until 5pm fourteen (14) days prior to the event commencement. After this time, refunds will only be issued if another member is available to take your place.
