Riverlinks and Short Black Opera present
Short Black Opera for Kids
About
Riverlinks is partnering with Short Black Opera to bring back Short Black Opera for Kids—a transformative program led by renowned Yorta Yorta soprano and composer, Deborah Cheetham Fraillon AO. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Deborah inspires children to find their voice and realise their true potential. Following its success in Geelong, we’re excited to bring this program to our region and are working closely with the team to ensure a similarly impactful experience for local children of the Goulburn Valley.
The program is open to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students in Grades 4 to 6. We’re reaching out to you to see if any children enrolled at your school would be able to participate in this free program. Through singing, songwriting, visual arts, and storytelling, this initiative aims to empower young people and celebrate their cultural identity. The program will run from Monday 30 June to Friday 4 July, concluding with a small concert for family and friends.
