Jennifer Howard invites you to join her at the 2025 Hayden Oration with Queensland Labor Opposition Leader, Steven Miles.The much-anticipated Hayden Oration returns again this year, and Jennifer is thrilled to have Steven give the keynote address.
Steven Miles is a widely respected figure in Queensland politics. Since being elected to Queensland Parliament in 2015, Steven has served as Environment Minister, Health Minister, Deputy Premier, and then Premier.
As Premier, he delivered a package of cost-of-living measures such as the popular 50 Cent Fares and the $1000 energy rebate, as well as legislating stronger climate and emissions reductions targets for Queensland and strengthening investment in renewable energy.
Join us for a 3-course meal at The Terrace, Ipswich Showgrounds, as Steven gives insights into his past inspirations and his journey into politics. Steven's story will ensure that this year’s Hayden Oration will be one you won’t want to miss.

The Hayden Oration honours the late Hon Bill Hayden AC (1933-2023) who was the Federal Member for Oxley from 1961-1988 and the Governor-General of Australia from 1989-1996. Mr Hayden was a widely respected Labor Parliamentarian and Minister, and later, widely respected as Australia's 21st Governor-General. The Oration honours Mr Hayden's contribution to the Labor Party and to political discourse in this country.
All proceeds from the Hayden Oration will go towards Jennifer Howard’s re-election campaign.
