Join us for the 2025 Friends of Rose Bay Camping Trip at Bents Basin. The 2-night camping trip will take place after school on 14th to 16th November 2025.
Bents Basin is approximately 70 Kilometres from Rose Bay (near Penrith) and travel time from Rose Bay Public School is approximately 1.5 hours. The Campground has an amenities block, picnic tables, barbecue facilities, drinking water, showers, toilets and electric power. It also has an awesome swimming location so make sure that you bring swimmers.
PRICING
Tickets are $50 per adult and $35 per child for 2 nights. We are also offering day trip tickets for $20 per adult and $15 per child for those wanting to just visit for the day. We want everyone to be part of this special event, so if finance is a concern, please reach out in confidence.

WAIVER
I/We acknowledge and agree that I/We participate in the Friends of Rose Bay Camping trip at our own risk.
I/We acknowledge that the Rose Bay Camping trip is not being organised by Rose Bay Public School or the Rose Bay P&C, but rather by volunteers who are parents with children attending Rose Bay Public School.
I/We acknowledge that the volunteers take no responsibility for the quality or availability of any facilities at the Campground nor any loss, personal injury, death, damage, cost or expense you may incur which is in any way connected with your participation in the camping trip.
I/We acknowledge that the tickets purchased for this camping trip do not include the car parking fee charged by Bents Basin campground.
I/We acknowledge that I/We will only receive a refund if the Camping trip is cancelled due to inclement weather and NSW National Parks provides a refund to the organisers. If this does occur I/We acknowledge that the refund may be less than the cost of the tickets due to administration fees.

How far is Bents Basin campground from Rose Bay Public School?
Approximately 70 kilometres or 1.5 hours.
Can we bring our kids that do not attend Rose Bay Public School?
Yes you can. The camping trip is for families who have kids attending Rose Bay Public school and includes siblings attending other schools.
Can we bring friends who do not attend Rose Bay Public School?
No. The camping trip is only for families who have kids attending Rose Bay Public school.
Will the campsite have any power?
Yes the campsite does have power points but they are near the kitchen. The camping spots have no power.
Can we rent camping gear?
You may be able to rent camping gear from a camping store or online. You cannot rent any camping gear at the Campground.
Is there any other accommodation available if we do not want to camp?
Bents Basin has no other accommodation types available. However you can find alternative accomodation nearby and join the camping trip for the day. Alternatively you can just drive from Sydney and join for the day.
Can we make a fire?
Yes. Fires are allowed in designated barbecues or portable off-the-ground barbecues. You need to bring your own firewood.
Will there be any activities for the kids?
We plan on organising some activities for the kids but we first need to confirm numbers and ages before organising this.
Will there be any medical equipment for any emergencies?
Yes we will make sure that there is a first aid kit on site. Ideally one of the parents attending the trip will be a doctor but we can only confirm this after taking registrations.
Will there be hot showers?
Yes.
Will there be flushing toilets?
Yes.
Will there be a kitchen?
Yes there is a kitchen where you can store items in the fridge. We have exclusive use of this kitchen during our stay.
What happens if it rains and we cannot go camping?
We will try reschedule but this may be difficult. If the National Park provides us with a refund we will then refund the money to those that have registered.
What is the disability access level?
Medium. Assistance may be required to access this area. The campground is mostly flat, with grass and gravel terrain, making it moderately wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible toilet at the main amenities block.
Are Pets allowed?
No.
What do we need to bring?
You need to bring all camping gear and food. Closer to the camping trip we will send out a checklist of things to bring.
