Stem Cell Donor Drive 2024 by Simply Human Inc.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐎! 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲? 

𝑩𝒆 𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒐, 𝑩𝒆 𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉...𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆’𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆!  

We are organising annual Stem Cell 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 on 07 SEPTEMBER 2024 in a hope to find a match for two Leukaemia fighters from South Asian Background (especially Sri Lankan Burghers ethnicity).

As the chances of finding a successful match is highly likely from the same ethnic background. We will encourage people from South Asian ethnic background to please come, participate in huge numbers and become a ‘𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 Stem Cell 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫’.

𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

1. Have Medicare card (Green or Blue) 

2. Age group between 18-35 years.

3. From any blood group.

4. If I am a blood donor, does it mean I am already a registered bone marrow donor - the answer is NO.

5. If I don’t belong to Asian ethnic background but would like to become a donor – Yes, please feel free to join in, the more the merrier!

6. Red Cross Team will be there at the venue to answer all your queries and at the end nothing can proceed further without your consent.

Can you say 'Yes' to all these questions?

·  I am between 18 and 35 years of age

· I am willing to donate anonymously to anyone in the world

· I have never been diagnosed with thalassaemia major, sickle cell disease, Fanconi   anaemia or haemophilia

· I have never received an organ or bone marrow transplant

· I have never suffered a stroke or heart attack

· I have never had a positive test for HTLV or HIV

· I have never had cancer (apart from BCC basal cell carcinoma or SCC squamous cell carcinoma of the skin)

 . I hold a current green or blue Medicare card (Donating your blood stem cells is free for those who hold a current Medicare card or are eligible to hold a Medicare card (i.e., Australian Defence Force member). If you don't have this, we won't be able to arrange for you to donate in Australia; and we are unable to accept your registration)

I have never had any serious auto-immune conditions such as:

• Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
• Multiple sclerosis (MS)
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Ankylosing spondylitis
• Scleroderma
• Type 1 diabetes mellitus
• Crohn's disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Addison's disease
• Or a combination of multiple auto-immune diseases

3. Give 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞, the same amount what you give for blood test

4. Fill up a form and you are done.

Note: If you are a permanent resident/citizen, aged between 18-35, from South Asian ethnicity (especially Srilankan Burghers ethnicity) and would like to become a registered Stem Cell donor - Please provide your detailed information.  We are seeking expression of interest using this online form, you would need to come to the venue to give the blood samples and fill up the forms on 07 SEPTEMBER 2024. We need your phone number and email address so that we can send you a timely reminder or updates regarding the event. The personal information collected will not be shared to any third parties.
