A story of loss and renewal depicted through the life of the phoenix. This program traces the emotional aftermath of miscarriage, emerging through the fragile and tender process of reflection and healing.Multi-disciplinary vocal ensemble Alchemy joins forces with jazz pianist Jack Earle to serve a visually striking and musically compelling program that transcends time. Music from reimagined Gregorian Chant to virtuosic masterpiece Ring Out Wild Bells by John Dove and from Samuel Barber’s achingly beautiful Agnus Dei to the poignant 1960s Italian love song Il Cielo in Una Stanza. The Geelong Gaol Museum is a canvas on which performers explore mythological phenomena of rebirth, cycles, fire, and second chances.
