Wyndham Youth Services invites youth who are Home-Educated to join us for these workshops at Point Cook Community Learning Centre.
Workshops are delivered by Proactive Self Defence.
Proactive Self Defence offers responsible personal security and safety programs for teenagers. Develop your awareness and learn preventative strategies, reinforced with practical drills that are safe, focusing on escaping, or surviving real or potential threats. Proactive encourages non violent resolutions as a primary objective.
Topic may include:
What is violence (verbal, emotional, racism, exclusion & physical)
Saying NO to violence (positive choices)
Assertive body & verbal language (strategies for diffusing/ distracting)
Personal safety tips (home, public transport, out ‘n’ about, parties)
Dealing with bullying (physical, verbal, cyber)
Thursday 19th & 26th June, 3rd July
9:30am - 11am
Workshops are FREE of charge.
